KHA Town Hall: Pediatric Stroke Algorithm

Pediatric stroke is uncommon but can result in significant morbidity and mortality. Deb Campbell, VP of Clinical Strategy at KHA, is active in Pediatric Readiness initiatives. Deb will be welcoming Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Stroke Medical Director at Frankfort Regional Medical Center Primary Stroke Center and Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Dr. O’Connor will be sharing a Pediatric Stroke Algorithm that the University of Kentucky and Norton Children’s Hospital developed. The algorithm is available to all healthcare institutions in Kentucky to improve the triage and treatment of children who present with acute neurologic deficits concerning for stroke in Kentucky.

Target Audience: ED leadership and staff, physicians, quality leaders, educators, risk managers, and anyone interested in the optimal care of children in the emergency department setting.
