University of Kentucky College of Nursing & UK HealthCare Enterprise Student Nurse Academic Practicum (SNAP) students engage in a paid clinical internship that provides the opportunity to be a member of the health care team while working under the supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. This credit-bearing nursing course offers an extended opportunity for students to apply what they have learned thus far in their nursing program. Students assume the responsibilities of a registered nurse under the guidance of nurse preceptors and faculty and complete 300 clinical hours during the program.
