The College Rural Scholar Program, through the University of Louisville Trover Campus, aims to support students from rural western Kentucky counties (Professional Education Preparation Program or PEPP and non-PEPP) who may become physicians and return to similar communities. The students are nominated as early as their first term in college, and those selected become scholars the following summer. They receive a small academic scholarship during their last three years of college and participate in a three-week summer session each year.
