Kentucky State Representative Wade Williams was honored with the Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA) Legislative Champion July 1 in Frankfort.

The KHA award recognizes state legislators who have exhibited exemplary service to the hospitals of Kentucky and the patients they serve. Representative Williams has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to protecting patients and health care professionals, supporting hospitals, and strengthening Kentucky’s health care system through his leadership in the General Assembly.

Since taking office, Representative Williams has become a trusted advocate for improving access to quality care and addressing the challenges facing hospitals across the Commonwealth. His thoughtful leadership and collaborative approach have earned the respect of colleagues and health care leaders alike.

During the 2026 legislative session, Representative Williams sponsored House Bill 248, legislation authorizing Kentucky hospitals to establish hospital police departments. The measure would provide hospitals with an additional tool to protect patients, visitors, and health care workers while helping create safer care environments across the Commonwealth.

Representative Williams also played a pivotal role in the creation of the biennial state budget. As Chairman of the Budet Review Subcommittee on Health Services, he ensures the needs of our hospitals and our patients are considered in the budget deliberations.

Representative Williams understands that strong hospitals are essential to healthy communities. His leadership on these important initiatives reflects his commitment to improving patient care, supporting Kentucky’s health care workforce, and ensuring hospitals have the resources needed to serve their communities.
