Kentucky State Representative Rebecca Raymer was honored with the Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA) Legislative Hero Award July 29 at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.
The KHA award recognizes state legislators who have exhibited exemplary service to the hospitals of Kentucky and the patients they serve. Representative Raymer has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving access to care, strengthening hospital services, and advancing thoughtful health policy through her leadership in the General Assembly.
As a registered nurse and member of the House Health Services Committee, Representative Raymer brings valuable health care experience and a patient-centered perspective to her work in Frankfort. Her leadership has helped elevate issues that directly affect hospitals, health care professionals, and patients throughout the Commonwealth.
During the 2026 legislative session, Representative Raymer was the leading advocate for House Bill 134, legislation to expand access to sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) services across Kentucky. The measure, which passed this session, establishes a statewide SANE coordinator and directs the development of a regional cooperation model to help ensure SANE coverage for Kentucky hospitals.
Her work on HB 134 will help strengthen access to timely, compassionate, trauma-informed care for sexual assault survivors and support hospitals as they work to provide these critical services in communities across the Commonwealth.

That experience has shaped the decisions I’ve made as a legislator because I know the policies we pass have a real impact on patients, families, nurses, physicians, and hospitals across the Commonwealth. I’m honored to receive this recognition from the Kentucky Hospital Association, and I’ll continue working to ensure our hospitals have the support they need to provide high-quality care and that every Kentuckian has access to the services they deserve.”
