The KHA Quality Team recently recognized and celebrated the outstanding contributions of Joyce Glackin-Mann, a true champion of patient-centered care and clinical excellence, as the latest KHA Patient Safety Hero. Glackin-Mann, Outpatient Clinician for Adolescent Chemical Dependent Population at The Brook – KMI, was nominated for the KHA Patient Safety Hero Award by a colleague who praised her as a “vocal advocate for patients” and someone who “encourages her peers to perform at the highest levels.” 

Recognizing a critical need to prevent accidental overdoses among patients, Glackin-Mann took the initiative to conduct research and identify practical, evidence-based solutions. Her efforts culminated in the development and successful implementation of a hospital-wide safety program — a transformative initiative that has enhanced patient safety and set a new standard for care delivery.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Glackin-Mann is known for her exceptional ability to foster open communication and teamwork. She prioritizes collaboration with patients, caregivers, and staff alike, ensuring that every voice is heard and every perspective valued.
