KHA Hosts Hospital Day at the Legislature

On Thursday, KHA hosted the annual Hospital Day at the Legislature event in Frankfort.  Hospital leaders from across the state visited with their legislators in their Frankfort offices to discuss important health care issues currently in the General Assembly.

KHA also hosted speakers from the House, and Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS).

Senator and Republican Caucus Chair Robby Mills discussed current issues and noted how important it is to visit personally with your legislators.

Senator and Senate Health Services Committee Chair Stephen Meredith

Senator and Senate Health Services Committee Chair Stephen Meredith spoke about important legislation (including his bills SB 14 supporting 340B and SB 57, the “Super Speeder” bill to raise money to support the Kentucky Trauma System).

Representative and House Health Services Committee Chair Kimberly Poore Moser

Representative and House Health Services Committee Chair Kimberly Poore Moser shared details on a number of health care issues before the Kentucky House this year.

CHFS Secretary Eric Friedlander

CHFS Secretary Eric Friedlander discussed how the great partnership between the Cabinet and Kentucky’s hospitals has made a huge difference in the health of Kentuckians throughout the state. He remarked on the remarkable strides of hospitals in regards to quality care and the work on Food is Medicine.
