Share

Join the upcoming KHA Quality webinar on January 30 at 11:00 a.m. (ET). This webinar will discuss how the statewide HANDS (Health Access Nurturing Development Services) program supports families with achieving healthy pregnancy outcomes, safe/healthy homes, optimal child development, and family self-sufficiency. It will also discuss how HANDS community-level programs work with health care providers for a strong continuum of care while reducing infant, child, and family risks/vulnerabilities.

Joining the webinar to speak with attendees is Shawna Donaldson, who joined the Kentucky Department for Public Health, Division of Maternal and Child Health, Early Childhood Promotions – HANDS team in June 2024 as the Human Services Program Supervisor. In her role, she provides support to the state focused on federally funded projects, CQI, budget, and HANDS operations. Donaldson’s professional experiences include over 20 years in early childhood home visits with 14 of those years spent managing a local HANDS program. She will be joined by Kentucky Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack on this presentation.

After this event, participants will be able to:

  1. Define how adverse child experiences (ACEs) and social determinants of health impact families.
  2. Identify the different components of the statewide HANDS.
  3. Associate how HANDS home visiting services positively impact families.
