The award celebrates both outstanding individuals and organizations leading health care innovation. Modern Healthcare’s Innovators program recognizes leaders and organizations driving innovation that improves care, achieves measurable results, and contributes to the clinical and financial goals of the organization.
Mary Ellen Podmolik, editor-in-chief of Modern Healthcare said, “The ambitious work underway by our 2025 Innovators Awards’ honorees is producing exciting results that will lead to better results for patients and these organizations that are tackling the industry’s biggest challenges.”
“On behalf of all of Kentucky’s hospitals we are absolutely thrilled to be recognized for the work our hospitals have been doing to improve the quality of patient care here in Kentucky,” said Nancy Galvagni, president and chief executive officer of the Kentucky Hospital Association.
Galvagni continued, “Our hospitals have been making a concerted effort to hit quality metrics set by our Medicaid State Directed Payment program. Because of that program, our hospitals have been able to significantly reduce serious infections, deaths from sepsis, and unplanned readmissions. Those quality improvements are great for the health of our patients and help to ensure scarce resources are being used effectively.” Galvagni concluded, “the Kentucky Hospital Association appreciates this recognition from Modern Healthcare for the fine work our hospitals are doing.”
