KHA Town Hall: Talent Pipeline Playbook: A Strategic Framework for Kentucky’s Healthcare Workforce

KHA Town Hall: Talent Pipeline Playbook: A Strategic Framework for Kentucky’s Healthcare Workforce
September 23 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This session provides a strategic playbook for Kentucky hospitals, using a successful regional case study to demonstrate how to move beyond short-term recruitment to solve long-term workforce challenges. It details proven, replicable strategies focused on forging deep academic partnerships, building a K-12 to-hire community pipeline, and investing in the career growth of current associates.
Learning Objectives:
- Differentiate between a reactive, short-term recruitment mindset and a proactive, long-term workforce development strategy.
- Identify three core strategies for building a sustainable healthcare talent pipeline: K-12 to-hire community engagement, deep academic partnerships, and internal career development.
- Evaluate your own hospital’s workforce strategy and identify at least one actionable model – such as leveraging the KYHWIF state matching fund or piloting an “earn and learn” apprenticeship – to address a specific local need.
Speaker: Brittany Sorrell, DNP, RN, Manager of Workforce Development, St. Elizabeth Hospital
