Based on conversations with members and schools of nursing, this virtual session will use didactic lecture with Power Point to address the need for more practical, real-world training for clinical instructors and preceptors to better support student learning and improve nurse recruitment and retention.

Objectives: At the conclusion of this offering, attendees will be able to:

• Understand the importance of tying course objectives to clinical experiences
• Create a conducive learning environment in the clinical setting
• Evaluate how students are doing
• Identify what nurses need to know to become strong instructors/preceptors

Target Audience: Hospital nurses, educators, HR team members, and other leaders interested in improving the clinical instruction and preceptor experiences to teach and recruit future nurses
