KHA Town Hall: Best Practices for Identifying and Responding to Measles Cases

September 11 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Deb Campbell, VP of Clinical Strategy and Transformation, will welcome Lee Hundley, MPH, the Lead Epidemiologist and Manager of the Vaccine Preventable Disease and Viral Respiratory Disease Surveillance Section with the Kentucky Department for Public Health.

Lee will share information important for hospitals. As measles cases reach levels not seen in the U.S. in more than 30 years, it is critical that healthcare facilities and providers are prepared to properly identify and respond to measles cases in collaboration with public health. This session will focus on CDC and Kentucky Department for Public Health recommendations for measles cases, including evaluation of suspect cases, laboratory testing, contact tracing and post-exposure prophylaxis for contacts, infection prevention in healthcare settings, public health reporting, and other best practices.
