May 6 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm

This educational offering is being issued exclusively to birthing hospitals that are members of the Kentucky Hospital Association, and is specifically geared toward health care professionals who provide care for infants with Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS). Guest speaker and subject matter expert Farrah Sheehan, MSN, RN, IBCLC, PMH-C, is a perinatal nurse educator, researcher, and consultant whose work focuses on respectful, equitable, and supportive care for all families; birth trauma recovery and prevention; and care for substance-exposed infants and their families. Farrah will share with us education regarding the impact of providing trauma-responsive care to families affected by SUD, and will use the Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC) model of neonatal care delivery to demonstrate how trauma-responsive care can improve the experience and efficacy of the care that is delivered.

This educational session offers 1.5 nursing contact hour credits.
