Led by South Central Kentucky Area Health Education Center (AHEC), the Community Action Poverty Simulation is a 2–2.5-hour interactive experience designed to build awareness and empathy around the realities of living in poverty.

Participants assume the roles of individuals and families navigating limited resources, unexpected challenges, and complex community systems. The simulation fosters a deeper understanding of the barriers faced by those in poverty and encourages compassion and insight among future health care professionals.
