The Northeast Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Scholars Program is a nationally funded initiative through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) designed to strengthen the health care workforce. The Kentucky AHEC Scholars Program is a two-year advanced learning opportunity that supplements classroom instruction for students pursuing careers in health care. Participants engage with peers statewide, develop interdisciplinary teamwork skills, and explore current and emerging health care topics. Each year includes 40 hours of didactic learning and 40 hours of experiential training in rural and underserved areas of Kentucky.
