The Kentucky Statewide Opioid Stewardship Program (KY SOS) is pleased to announce sixteen KY SOS-sponsored pharmacists have successfully completed the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Opioid Stewardship Certificate. KY SOS has sponsored these pharmacists as they continue their efforts in promoting safe prescribing of opioids in hospitals and clinics across Kentucky.
The ASHP Opioid Stewardship Certificate will benefit the pharmacists, hospitals, and ultimately patients throughout the Commonwealth. This program offers methods for development of an opioid stewardship program (OSP) within their hospitals from its inception throughout the process while focusing on quality improvement, executive leadership support, education of health care team members and patients.
