SUMMARY:Civitas Member-Led Webinar: Help Emergency Departments (EDs) Across Your Network to Quickly Triage and Treat SNF Transfers
DESCRIPTION:High readmissions and poor outcomes for Skilled nursing facility (SNF) populations transferring to the ED are unfortunately very common. Lack of effective information exchange and coordination between SNFs and ED staff is difficult. The packet of history sent with the patient\, if it arrives intact\, does little to help provide quick and easy access to meaningful data to support front line staff and rapid decisions or treatment. In this session you will learn how SNF patient data can: \n\nBe easily curated and delivered immediately upon patient arrival\nBe seamlessly integrated and accessible in the ED track board.\nArrive with key insights on the recent SNF encounter.\nIn this session you will learn how Community Health Network is advancing real time care collaboration between their ED providers and post-acute network\, through real-time data on SNF transfer patients\, seamlessly integrated into their track board and delivered immediately upon patient arrival.\n\n\nClick here to register\n\nPresented by PointClickCare

SUMMARY:Kentucky Rural Telehealth Summit Webinar: Medicare Patients Use of Telehealth Could be Significantly Limited After 1/1/25
DESCRIPTION:The pre-COVID rules and regulations that made telehealth somewhat difficult were relaxed in 2020 to allow patients insured by Medicare and their providers to leverage telehealth to care for patients during the COVID pandemic. These COVID-era flexibilities were to expire at the end of the COVID public health emergency\, but fortunately\, Congress extended them twice\, and they are now about to expire on January 1\, 2025. There are hopes that Congress will pass an extension so America’s health care systems can continue to offer a broad range of health care via telehealth to keep Medicare-insured citizens healthy. If Congress does not act before January 1\, providers will be limited on how they can use telehealth for Medicare patients. \nThe Kentucky Telehealth Summit Planning team invites you to participate in a webinar on December 11 to discuss the most up-to-date information regarding the legal and regulatory status. \n\nRegistration

SUMMARY:Webinar: Vaccination and Blood Donation Policies Protect Blood Safety
DESCRIPTION:Many states in the past few years have introduced policy proposals for labeling “mRNA-free donations” and requiring patient consent for transfusions involving donors vaccinated with mRNA or self-amplifying RNA vaccines. These proposals rely on unapproved testing methods that do not meet FDA regulations for blood donor testing. \nOn December 18\, Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB) will host a webinar at 3:00 p.m. (ET) to provide valuable insights into the scientific evidence confirming the safety of blood donations from vaccinated individuals and the negligible risk of vaccine components in transfusions. The program will also examine the implications of unnecessarily restrictive policies and provide tools to support evidence-based advocacy. This session will be of great interest to health care administrators\, government affairs teams\, physicians and clinical staff across many organizations. \n\nRegistration is complimentary but required to attend.\n\nShould you have any questions or need further details\, please contact Susan N. Leppke\, MPH at AABB (sleppke@aabb.org).
