DESCRIPTION:The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will host a Transforming Maternal Health (TMaH) Model Overview webinar at 12 p.m. CT on Feb. 28. TMaH aims to improve maternal healthcare by partnering with state Medicaid agencies to develop a whole-person approach to pregnancy\, childbirth\, and postpartum care that addresses the physical health\, mental health\, and social needs experienced during pregnancy. State Medicaid agencies and other interested stakeholders\, such as maternity care providers and managed care plans\, are encouraged to attend the webinar to learn more about the TMaH Model’s structure\, care delivery transformations and resources available to participants. \n\nRegistration\n\nTMaH Model was announced in December 2023\, and is intended to be a 10-year payment and care-delivery model that will support participating state Medicaid agencies in developing and implementing a whole-person approach to pregnancy\, childbirth\, and postpartum care for women with Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage.

DESCRIPTION:The Center for Medicare Services (CMS) announced the final ruling of the updated Public Health and Clinical Data Exchange Objective\, which adds the AUR measure to the 4 required reporting domains starting with the CY 2024 reporting period. The CDC prioritizes AU tracking and reporting to NHSN to achieve compliance with the core elements of hospital ASP. A SAAR\, Standardized Antimicrobial Administration Ratio\, is a summary measure of antimicrobial use (AU) for hospitals in the AU Option of the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Antimicrobial Use and Resistance (AUR) Module. NHSN originally developed the metric as a quantitative tool for hospitals to make comparisons of AU within and across facilities to help guide antimicrobial stewardship efforts.
