SUMMARY:KHA Quality Webinar: Artificial Intelligence: Can it Assist the Infection Preventionist with Surveillance?
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for September’s Quality Webinar where Dr. Ruth Carrico will discuss AI and infection prevention. Surveillance of both processes and outcomes is a fundamental element of infection prevention practice. It is also one of the most time consuming and resource intensive activities and requires specialized knowledge and clinical acumen. Further\, workforce shortages and influx of new personnel requiring targeted and ongoing education\, training\, and competence assessment result in further stress on this important process. Artificial Intelligence has provided new avenues for information that should be explored. This session will provide some introductory information regarding AI and its potential uses as an assistance to the infection preventionist. Using surveillance approaches\, NHSN definitions\, case scenarios\, and pilot project outcomes\, AI will be explored and demonstrated. \n\nKHA MEMBERS: CLICK HERE TO REGISTER\n\nNon-members: Please contact Tammy Wells for more information.

SUMMARY:KHA Webinar: Navigating Cancer Together: Empowering through Experience
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will discuss the Friend for Life program that serves individuals diagnosed with cancer for the first time\, for those with recurrence and metastasis and their loved ones. This program helps them navigate the path through diagnosis\, treatment and recovery by pairing them with a trained survivor of a similar experience so they can face cancer with someone who’s been there. Established in 1988\, Friend for Life is a network of cancer survivors and co-survivors (caregivers) who serve as trained volunteers\, providing one-to-one emotional and psychosocial support to persons diagnosed with cancer\, and their loved ones. Facing cancer with someone who has been through a similar experience helps restore a sense of stability during a tumultuous time and to navigate the path through diagnosis\, treatment and recovery. \nSpeaker:\nLori Beth Miller\, Ed.D\nAssistant Director of Friend4life \n\nKHA MEMBERS: CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
