Sepsis Case Abstraction Office Hours
Sepsis Case Abstraction Office Hours
October 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Don’t let SEP-1 abstraction get spooky! The Kentucky Sepsis Consortium invites you to the next Sepsis Case Abstraction Office Hours on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. ET.
These collaborative sessions are designed to help sepsis abstractors take the fright out of abstraction by accurately identifying and abstracting CMS SEP-1 cases involving Severe Sepsis and Septic Shock — because when it comes to patient safety, regulatory compliance, and appropriate reimbursement, you don’t want tricks, just accurate answers and abstraction!
KHA’s Dr. Billie Delauder will bring her CMS sepsis abstraction expertise and, together with Deb Campbell, KHA Vice President of Clinical Strategy and Transformation, will help take some of the scary mystery out of challenging cases by providing guidance, answering practice-focused questions, and reviewing case rationales and applicable guidelines.
Participants will also have the opportunity to submit questions directly to CMS Quest.
Quality leaders and sepsis abstractors are encouraged to join and bring those tricky cases and haunting abstraction questions that have been lingering around. Together, you’ll work through the details and continue strengthening care of the sepsis patient across Kentucky.
Please note: No Protected Health Information (PHI) will be shared during this event.
For our member hospitals: Invitations will be sent to existing members of the event. If you or someone you know would like to be included in future invitations, please contact Billie Delauder bdelauder@kyha.com.
