Sepsis Case Abstraction Office Hours
Sepsis Case Abstraction Office Hours
September 23 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
In recognition of September as Sepsis Awareness Month, the Kentucky Sepsis Consortium will continue its Sepsis Case Abstraction Office Hours, with the next session scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. ET.
These collaborative sessions support sepsis abstractors in accurately identifying and abstracting CMS SEP-1 cases involving Severe Sepsis and Septic Shock—critical components of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and appropriate reimbursement.
Dr. Billie Delauder will bring her CMS sepsis abstraction expertise and, together with Deb Campbell, Vice President of Clinical Strategy and Transformation, will provide guidance, answer practice-focused questions, and review case rationales and applicable guidelines. Participants will also have the opportunity to submit questions directly to CMS Quest.
Quality leaders and sepsis abstractors are encouraged to attend and are welcome to bring case-specific questions as we recognize Sepsis Awareness Month and continue working together to strengthen sepsis care across Kentucky.
Please note: No Protected Health Information (PHI) will be shared during this event.
For our member hospitals: Invitations will be sent to existing members of the event. However, if you or someone you know would like to be included in future invitations, please contact Billie Delauder at bdelauder@kyha.com.
