KHA Town Hall: The Importance of Coding and Documentation Integrity

April 16 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Completely and accurately capturing patient encounter information and determining the most appropriate E/M code has broad impacts on employed provider networks – including patient care revenues, provider compensation, and corporate compliance. Inaccurate coding by providers can result in over coding – with artificially increased individual compensation (assuming a productivity, collections, or revenue minus expense model) and corporate compliance risks (Stark, False Claims Act) or under coding – with artificially decreased individual provider compensation (and resultant complaints or concerns).

This webinar will explore the risks associated with inaccurately documenting or coding patient encounters as well as describe elements of a formal coding and documentation education and audit program that can alleviate these risks.
