Via lecture and Power Point visual aids, this virtual offering will build upon the changing role of infection prevention and control and outline specific knowledge and competence areas suitable for guiding and leading successful change.
Objectives– At the conclusion of this offering, attendees will be able to:
- Review accepted job knowledge domains used to form the basis for infection prevention and control practice in use prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Identify new job knowledge and competencies that reflect the pandemic successes and failures as well as changing healthcare outcome expectations voiced by patients, payers, healthcare personnel, and communities.
- Outline a core list of new areas of infection prevention knowledge and practice suitable for use in education development and programmatic strategic planning.
Target Audience: Infection Preventionists (IPs), IP leaders, Clinical leaders, Quality Leaders, and other health care professionals committed to excellence in the field of infection prevention and control.
Continuing Education: The Kentucky Hospital Association is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN). KBN approval of a continuing nursing education provider does not constitute endorsement of program content. This educational activity is offered for 1.8 contact hours, with offering number 5-0023-12-27-23, expiration date 12-31-2027. No partial credit will be given. To receive credit, participants must attend the entire educational offering, provide their nursing license number, and complete the offering evaluation.
