Via lecture and Power Point visual aids, this virtual offering will focus on how statutory and accreditation requirements have long been a basis for infection prevention and control (IPC) program and planning, and public health law and corresponding governmental agencies have been integral partners and areas of support. Policy changes are increasingly moving from federal to state oversight and these changes have a direct impact on IPC programs. This session will address changes within public health at national and state levels with emphasis on partnerships for change.

Objectives– At the conclusion of this offering, attendees will be able to:

1. Review elements of public health law and accreditation standards that guide and influence infection prevention and control programs
2. Identify new opportunities and shared vision for IPC programs and public health partners
3. Explore approaches that take advantage of collaboration that focus on goal-driven actions, sacred cow reduction, and fiscal partnerships that move toward the shared vision.

Target Audience: Infection Preventionists (IPs), IP leaders, Clinical leaders, Quality Leaders, and other health care professionals committed to excellence in the field of infection prevention and control.

KBN approval of a continuing nursing education provider does not constitute endorsement of program content.
