Kentucky Hospital Tobacco-Free Campus Initiative

As health care leaders, the elimination of tobacco use on hospital campuses is a positive and proactive step toward improving the health of all Kentuckians. Implementing a smoking ban for all patients, visitors and employees on health care campuses is an ambitious goal requiring comprehensive implementation and communication strategies. KHA has published a resource kit, for hospitals adopting tobacco-free campus policies.

KHA supports all hospitals adopting tobacco-free campus policies to improve the health of their patients, employees and community.   KHA is offering encouragement and support to its member hospitals and health systems to establish tobacco-free environment policies. To forward this goal, KHA is working with members to assess current policies and identify needs by sharing information about how Kentucky and other states are becoming tobacco-free, providing a resource kit and technical assistance, and linking hospitals with supportive initiatives.  KHA encourages all Kentucky hospitals to work toward tobacco-free campuses.

You are free to use these materials in your tobacco-free initiative and modify them for hospital use.
