ADDITIONAL CORE MEASUREMENT SELECTION
By now, you have already received information from JCAHO on your requirements to select another measurement set as part of the JCAHO Core Measurement Initiative.  You may either send us a copy of the JCAHO form or you can complete the COMPdata Core Measurement Selection Form on the COMPdata web site at: http://www.ihatoday.org/compdata/perfmeas/coremeasform.pdf   Please send the JCAHO or COMPdata form to the attention of Dottie Jackson by e-mail at djackson@ihastaff.org or by fax at 630/505-9389.

If you are unaware of your reporting requirements to JCAHO and are in need of additional background information, please go to the JCAHO web site at http://www.jcaho.org/accredited+organizations/hospitals/oryx/selection+change+forms/index.htm

COMPdata ANNUAL MEETING - November 17 - 19, 2003
Patient and Consumer Driven Health Care Information Needs
Please join us at the COMPdata Annual Meeting that is focused on Health Information and the Needs of Consumers and Patients.

A workshop on the afternoon of Monday, November 17th will be focused "Understanding the National  Voluntary Reporting System, Managing Your Hospital’s Reporting, and Training on NEW CART Software."

On Tuesday, November 18th, there will be several national health leaders discussing the Patient and Consumer Driven Health Care Information Needs.  Speakers include:
-  Arnold Milstein, M.D., M.P.H. - Thought Leader, Mercer Human Resources Consulting; Medical Director, Leapfrog; Pacific Business Group on Health
- Michael Parkinson, M.D., M.P. H. - Executive Vice President, Chief Health and Medical Officer, Lumenos ( a Consumer Driven Health Care Company)
- Jamie Orlikoff, President of Orlikoff & Associates and Health Care Futurist
- Burn Loeffke, Ph.D., PA-C, Retired Army General and Leading Medical Missions Throughout World
- Agency For Health Care Research and Quality Representative discussing AHRQ QI Measures and the 2003 National Healthcare Quality Report to Congress to be released shortly

On Wednesday morning, November 19th, there will be a workshop focused on "Understand and Communicating Statistical Results" with Robert Lloyd, Ph.D., Advocate Health Care, Author , Advisor, and National Speaker on Performance Measurements.
